Spain will prohibit the entry of vinification grapes into the Canary Islands due to phylloxera

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has communicated this Friday to the Canarian Government the prohibition of importing and transiting to the archipelago fruits (except table grapes) and vine seeds from countries where phylloxera is present, in an order that will be published in the Official State Gazette. This was reported by the Canarian Government's Department of Agriculture in a statement, which highlighted that this measure, demanded by the regional executive since the first cases of phylloxera were known, aims to reinforce the protection of the Canarian vineyard and prevent the spread of this aphid.
