The Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) announced that it will begin collecting lists of rice storage facilities storing more than 5,000 baskets (50 tons) of rice in certain regions, starting in June and July 2023. This initiative is part of the federation's efforts to establish a fair and stable rice market and prices. The federation is introducing an Online Registration System (MyRO) to facilitate digital submission of registration lists, which is expected to be implemented in 2023. The MRF will also issue digital certificates to warehouses to ensure proper storage conditions and recording of prices. The announcement also urges those with rice storage facilities to submit their registration application form by June 26th and prepare for a public-private joint inspection.
