The Brazilian soybean market registered a week of reduced business and difficulty in price formation. According to the consultancy Safras & Mercado, the futures contracts in Chicago presented limited fluctuations due to the American government shutdown, while the rise of the dollar brought some support to domestic prices. In the physical market, soybean prices registered mixed movements: In Chicago, the November contracts closed at US$ 10.13 3/4 per bushel, with a 0.42% devaluation for the week. The government shutdown prevented the release of fundamental data, such as the USDA's survey of crop conditions and the supply and demand report (Wasde), leaving operators "in the dark." Favorable weather in the U.S., however, helped reduce additional pressures on prices. Brazilian soybean exports are expected to reach 111 million tons in 2026, up from 107 million estimated for 2025, according to the consultancy Safras & Mercado.
