Over the past three years, sugarcane prices have been stable, leading to an increase in planting areas and profits for farmers in Tra Vinh, Vietnam. Local companies have supported farmers with policies and investments, resulting in improved yields and quality. In the 2024-2025 sugarcane crop, Tra Vinh Sugarcane Joint Stock Company plans to invest over 15 billion VND to further support farmers. The local government is also implementing various mechanisms to enhance sugarcane cultivation. Despite these efforts, the sugarcane planting area is still not at the desired level, with only around 80% of the area needed for the local factory's consumption currently planted. The goal is to expand this area to at least 1,200 hectares and eventually stabilize it above 2,000 hectares.
