Uzbekistan's sunflower oil reserves have hit a record high of 110 thousand tons due to increased imports, but are projected to drop by almost four times to 28 thousand tons by the end of the current marketing year, due to trade restrictions within the Customs Union. Deliveries from Kazakhstan and Russia, the main suppliers, have decreased by 8% and 69% respectively. To maintain the sunflower oil supply in the market for the 2022/23 marketing year, there is a need to boost both imports and domestic production. The USDA anticipates a 58% increase in domestic butter production and a 33% rise in imports for the next season.
