The Polish Ministry of Agriculture is seeking public feedback on its proposed subsidy regulations for agricultural crops and livestock for 2023. However, these regulations fail to include subsidies for sunflower and phacelia crops, despite requests from local agricultural associations. The Polish Association of Cereals Producers and the Lubuska Chamber of Agriculture have expressed their disappointment and have called on the Ministry to revise its regulations to include these crops. In response, the Ministry has announced that it is working on an amendment to the Insurance Act to extend subsidies to more crops, including sunflower, phacelia, flax, and hemp.
