Belarus has emerged as a major supplier of edible chicken eggs and poultry meat to Russia, contributing 94.1% and 71% of the total volume respectively in the past year. This surge in imports is part of a wider bilateral food trade between the two nations, accounting for 13% of Russian exports and a quarter of Belarusian imports. The trade growth is a result of the Treaty on the Establishment of the Union State for 2021-2023 and 28 joint sectoral programs, which aim to establish a shared agricultural market and remove mutual trade barriers.
