Once a year, the Quilmes Brewery and Malthouse celebrates the "Field Day" at its Research and Development Center located in Tres Arroyos. It is an event that brings together producers, agronomists, subsidiary companies, and members of the firm to celebrate the beginning of the barley harvest and to present the latest advancements. In this edition, which was attended by Bichos de Campo, all eyes were on the launch of two new varieties of barley for beer that were developed at the same facility after 12 years of research and an investment of 6 million dollars. This is a significant news for Argentina and the region, as the company, which is already 135 years old, works with 1,200 producers and obtains 1.2 million tons of barley per year, of which more than half is exported to Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, and Chile.
