A new agreement between South Korea and Taiwan will allow for the simultaneous sorting of apples and pears for both domestic consumption and export to Taiwan, as well as other countries, throughout the year. This agreement is expected to ease the burden on domestic sorting facilities and reduce labor costs. The National Institute of Animal Quarantine will revise related notices to implement this agreement promptly. This agreement is part of the Quarantine Agency's efforts to support domestic agricultural product exports by relaxing export requirements. Similar agreements have already been made with Australia and Canada.
