A business agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and Korean Air in December 2020 led to the operation of a strawberry-only aircraft for exports to Singapore, contributing to a 21% increase in strawberry exports to Singapore from December 2020 to March 2021 compared to the same period the previous year, despite the pandemic. The freight price signed in the agreement helped offset logistics costs for exporters and farmers. The exports, targeting high-end retailers in Singapore, saw a more than 30% increase in export unit prices during the same period. The ministry aims to find premium markets in countries such as Hong Kong, Thailand, and Vietnam to increase farm household income.
