REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Task Force (Satgas) for Rice Price Control for 2025 has begun to move to regional points where rice prices are still above the Highest Retail Price (HET). The surveillance, based on collaboration with the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and ministries/agencies, is expected to become a stimulus for controlling rice prices. Minister of Agriculture (Mentan)/Head of Bapanas Andi Amran Sulaiman emphasized that rice is a strategic staple food containing a large government subsidy, so the price at the consumer level must be well and properly controlled. "The price of rice has decreased from 514 cities and regencies across Indonesia, last we monitored there were 59 cities and regencies. As of yesterday, there were only 20 cities and regencies left.
