The National Agricultural Health Service (Senasa) in Peru is working on negotiating access of Peruvian agricultural products to new international markets, specifically focusing on ten products including citrus, grapes, and more. The timeframe for accessing these markets varies and is dependent on the phytosanitary authorities of the importing countries. The process can take years, as shown with Peruvian citrus fruits in Japan which took 8 years. Currently, Senasa is in the process of preparing an export plan for citrus fruits to New Zealand, and negotiations with Japan for grape export are expected to conclude in July, with exports likely to begin in November.
