Teresópolis, a Brazilian city in Rio de Janeiro, has been crowned as the National Hop Capital due to its favorable climate and leading role in the country's growing hop production. With the first nursery for hop seedling production in Brazil, Teresópolis is becoming a significant hub for hop cultivation, currently contributing to around 10% of Brazil's hop production. The city's climate and geographical conditions are well-suited for hop cultivation, a relatively new but booming industry in Brazil. This industry is supported by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture, with a focus on sustainable production to improve rural income.
