The North Kazakhstan region is set to diversify its sown areas in 2021, with a preliminary plan of 4.5 million hectares, including grain crops, oilseeds, and fodder crops. The region also aims to increase the cultivation of buckwheat and potatoes, apply more mineral fertilizers, and enhance the variety renewal rate. There are also plans to expand the area of irrigated land using water-saving technologies and upgrade agricultural machinery. The government has allocated 60.8 billion tenge for the agricultural sector, with 20.4 billion tenge specifically for crop production development.
