On the 12th, Hongseong County in South Chungcheong Province held a "Crop Pest Control Consultation Meeting" at the Hongseong County Agricultural Technology Center to discuss control measures and cooperation systems. The council analyzed that the occurrence areas of brown planthopper, American spotted lanternfly, and spotted lanternfly have all decreased based on this year's winter egg survey results. Brown planthopper and American spotted lanternfly are expected to hatch 9-11 days earlier compared to last year, while spotted lanternfly is forecast to hatch one day later than last year. The optimal control period was set from the 20th of this month to the 5th of next month. The county decided to establish a preemptive response system based on the discussions from the consultation meeting.
