Growing amaranth in Ukraine can potentially earn up to UAH 125,000 per hectare under ideal conditions, according to Oleksandr Duda, Chairman of the Association of Amaranth and Amaranth Products Producers. The cost of sowing amaranth is UAH 675 per hectare. The crop requires a level, loose field and minimal maintenance, with no need for fertilizers or synthetic pesticides. The yield can reach 4-5 tons per hectare with the right agricultural conditions and sufficient heat. A budget of up to UAH 2,000 per hectare is recommended for biological preparations to protect against beet weevils and aphids, and the total cultivation cost is UAH 10,000 per hectare.
