Exporters have to pay a 10% duty on rapeseed, which allowed traders to send some ships from Ukrainian ports, but other vessels are still idle and traders continue to pay demurrage for the downtime. This situation has virtually halted rapeseed sales for export by producers, so traders have started to cancel rapeseed and soybean vessels in anticipation of new government clarifications regarding duty payments and their subsequent reimbursement to agricultural producers. Export demand prices for rapeseed in Ukraine at the end of the week rose to 23,200-23,500 UAH/t or 535-550 $/t with delivery to Black Sea ports, but farmers are mostly selling small lots only under hryvnia contracts. Processors are in no hurry to raise rapeseed prices, keeping them at 22,500-23,000 UAH/t with delivery to the plant, but the sunflower supply deficit, caused by poor harvests in the south and prolonged rainfall in the west, will prompt processors to increase rapeseed processing plans this season, ...
