Turkey's Kirsehir region is witnessing a surge of interest in the cultivation of alternative crops, notably cumin, among farmers in areas such as Boztepe, Kaman, and Akpınar. This shift towards cumin cultivation, which has shown promise with good yields in recent years, is seen as a viable alternative to traditional crops like barley and wheat, especially with the potential for higher income. The region plans to expand cumin cultivation to 20,000 decares this year, following a successful pilot phase. Additionally, the area is exploring the extraction of Çörekotu oil and plans to submit a project proposal to the Konya Plain Project Regional Development Administration.
