A new buffalo farm, the first in Russia, is being established in the Stavropol Territory with an investment of around half a billion rubles. The initial group of 30 buffaloes, purchased in the Netherlands, has been quarantined and is expected to multiply soon. An additional batch of 20 buffaloes is set to arrive in the autumn, with plans to increase the herd to 280 by 2022. The milk produced will be used for the manufacturing of dairy products, including gourmet cheeses like mozzarella.
