Japan and JICA to Provide Seeds to Kharkiv Farmers in Ukraine
The Government of Japan and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will provide sunflower and corn seeds to farmers in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine, valued at over $1 million for the 2023 spring sowing season. The seeds have been delivered to Ukrainian warehouses and will be available to Kharkiv farmers through the State Agrarian Register. This initiative, announced on March 9, 2023, during a meeting with the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Mykola Solskyi, also includes the creation of an educational program for Ukrainian students at Kharkiv National Agrarian University, funded by Japan.
