The measure became official through the publication of the law that allows the access of Peruvian grapes to the Japanese market, issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan in the official gazette of the Asian country. With this, Peru will be able to export a total of 26 grape varieties to a market of 125 million potential consumers. This negotiation work, at a technical level, was managed by SENASA and the Commercial Office of Peru in Tokyo. A thirteen-stage procedure was followed, including technical proposals, studies, visits to Peru, among others, the last being a public consultation, where no observations were received. It should be noted that the grape is one of the main export fruits of the Peruvian basket.
