The Ministry of Agriculture in Spain has revised the country's citrus production forecast for the 2022/23 season to 5.995 million tons, a decrease of 15.2% from the previous campaign and 12.4% less than the five-year average. This makes the upcoming harvest the smallest in seven years. The production breakdown includes 3.01 million tons of sweet oranges, 1.95 million tons of small citrus fruits, 944,000 tons of lemons, 75,000 tons of grapefruits, and 9,652 tons of other citrus varieties. Notably, sweet oranges are projected to see the largest decrease (-19.9%).
