(Jeju=Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Ho-cheon = The "2025 Jeju Dosaegi Festival," hosted by the Jeju Pig Farmers Association and the Jeju Branch of the Korea Pork Producers Association, will be held from the 25th to the 26th in the Saebyeol Oreum area of Aewol-eup, Jeju City.
"Dosaegi" is a Jeju dialect term for "piglet."
With the subtitle "Falling in love with the charm of Dosaegi," this festival will feature an on-site auction of Jeju pork and local specialties, a pig racing event, a pig culture competition, a pig family contest, and a special event where participants can find a key to unlock a safe containing a golden pig figurine (worth 1 tael of gold).
Additionally, there will be a piglet photo contest, a flea market featuring pig characters, food trucks and local restaurants offering pig-based dishes, a tasting corner, and discount sales booths.
Stage events will include performances by Jeju-born singer Yang Ji-eun and the duo Skull & Haha, performances by local troupes, and a Dosaegi quiz.
Go Gwon-jin, chairman of the Jeju Pig Farmers Association, said on the 14th, "This is the most delicious festival in Jeju where you can taste the delicious and nutritious Jeju pork," and urged many to participate, noting that some booths will offer discounts of up to 25% off the market price.
