The Netherlands slaughtered more cattle last year

This is evident from figures from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency. A total of 481,983 cattle were slaughtered last year, or 9,269 per week. In 2021 that was 475,105 cattle, or 9,137 weekly. It is striking that the difference was mainly made in the second half of 2022. In the last 26 weeks of that year, an average of 9,721 cattle were slaughtered, compared to 9,399 in the last half of 2021.
