Dry and wet grinding. Characterization and perspectives First, it is necessary to highlight which products are obtained by the two different types of milling. On the one hand, from dry grinding, corn flour (polenta), semolina and certain pieces for making flakes (corn flakes) are obtained. In general, these products are used within the food industry to produce sandwiches, cookies, cereals and etc. On the other hand, wet milling of corn is used to produce, among other products, caloric sweeteners, starches, high fructose corn syrups and glucose syrup, and gluten meal and gluten feed. These by-products can be used as forage or supplementation in animal nutrition.
