The National Service of Animal Health and Quality (Senacsa) reported that the Department of Agriculture of the Republic of the Philippines authorized the importation of beef, pork, and poultry products from Paraguay, which will allow national slaughterhouses to begin exporting meat and offal to this Asian destination. The decision comes after a thorough audit conducted by the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) of the Philippines, which concluded on May 12, 2025, with inspections of slaughterhouses and livestock facilities. The process began on April 28 with official meetings and, since April 29, included technical visits to evaluate the control and safety system of the national meat chain.
