The increase in raspberry production in Ukraine, Poland, and Serbia has led to an overproduction and a decrease in prices for frozen raw materials. Taras Bashtannyk, the president of the Ukrainian Fruit and Vegetable Association, stated that this price trend was predictable and that similar cycles occur every four to five years. As a result of the low prices and other factors such as uncertainty and a shortage of working capital, some raspberry producers have chosen not to harvest the berries.
