"The internal supply does not find a match in demand, which accentuates the pressure on prices," explain Cepea researchers. While prices are falling, the sowing of the 2025/26 crop is advancing at a rapid pace. According to Irga (Rio Grande do Sul Rice Institute), by November 27, 92% of the estimated area had already been planted — an increase of 2.8 percentage points in just one week. The climatic conditions, so far, have been favorable to the development of the crops, which maintains the expectation of higher productivity this season.
