The Ukrainian market is experiencing a shortage of high-quality white cabbage, which has led to a significant increase in selling prices. Prices have risen by an average of 16% in the past week, ranging from 25-35 UAH/kg ($0.60-0.84/kg). The limited supply is due to farmers holding back on sales, anticipating further price increases. Wholesale companies are showing a strong interest in purchasing the cabbage and are willing to raise purchase prices. The current price of white cabbage in Ukraine is on average three times higher than in the same period in 2023, and it is expected to rise further due to a decrease in production and a reduction in the share of products suitable for long-term storage.
