The private label market in Europe's food sector grew to 302 billion euros in 2022, with the share of store brands increasing by 1.2%, according to PLMA and NielsenIQ. In the EU, own brands accounted for 37% of retail sales in food stores. The countries with the highest percentage of own brand sales were Switzerland (51.6%), Poland (48.3%), and the Czech Republic (46.5%). The categories with the highest revenue for private label products were frozen goods and ready-to-eat and ready-to-heat foods, generating a total of €212.8 billion in revenue.
