Turkey's cherry production is projected to decrease by 5% in the 2024/25 marketing year, reaching 900,000 tons, as reported by the USDA FAS. Despite this decrease, cherry exports are expected to hit a record 90,000 tons, marking a 7.8% increase from the previous year. The majority of these exports are concentrated in the European Union. Despite the production drop, demand remains strong, making it profitable for producers. The total area planted with cherries is anticipated to rise to 99,300 hectares, with the bulk of production occurring in the western and central provinces, particularly Izmir, Manisa, Afyonkarahisar, and Konya.
