Netherlands: The province of Limburg opens a subsidy scheme to prevent damage caused by wild animals

Wild animals can inadvertently cause damage to agricultural crops or livestock. The Province of Limburg considers it important to invest in precautionary measures and is therefore opening a subsidy scheme for the period from 15 March 2023 to 21 December 2023 to support prevention, but also research into new preventive measures. In this way, the province also hopes to contribute to the harmonious coexistence of Limburgers with protected animal species living in the wild, such as wild boar, wolf and badger. Prevention of fauna damage is primarily the responsibility of the land owner and land user. With the Further subsidy rules for the prevention of fauna damage, the Province of Limburg supports the purchase of preventive measures to prevent damage.
