In Ukraine this week, strawberries have significantly decreased in price, with prices falling due to a sharp increase in supply from farms in western regions and low demand caused by poor berry quality after unfavorable weather. EastFruit reports. Just before the previous weekend, farmers were refusing to sell greenhouse strawberries for less than 220–260 UAH per kilogram. However, by the beginning of this week, the market situation changed dramatically. Due to active berry harvesting in film greenhouses in the southern and western regions of the country, prices for the product have fallen by almost 35%. Currently, strawberries are being sold for 120–190 UAH/kg, depending on product quality and batch size. Despite the significant price reduction in recent days, strawberries are still approximately 45% more expensive than during the same period last year.
