The regional governor of Lambayeque, Jorge Pérez Flores, met with the Ministers of Economy and Finance, Raúl Pérez Reyes, and Agricultural and Irrigation Development, Angel Manero Campos, to request that the continuity of operation and maintenance of the Olmos Project be carried out through an international tender, given that the current concession expires on September 25, 2025. However, the Executive Branch expressed its intention to award the project through direct allocation.
During the dialogue, it was highlighted that an inter-institutional working table—comprised of the MEF, Midagri, Comptroller's Office, ProInversión, and the Regional Government of Lambayeque—has been jointly evaluating a possible addendum to the current contract.
Minister Pérez Reyes requested the Regional Government's mediation to coordinate a meeting with the Regional Council of Lambayeque, where the Executive's definitive proposal regarding the presentation of a new concessionaire can be presented.
