Regarding vegetables, the volume exported in the first nine months of the year totaled 3.8 million tons, falling 6% year-on-year and practically all vegetables decreased: pepper, with 545,529 tons (-6.5%), lettuce , with 493,741 tons (-10%), tomato, with 458,279 tons (-4%) or cabbages, with 389,276 tons (-5%). The export of fresh fruit fell a higher percentage; specifically 10%, totaling 5 million tons. Among the fruits with the greatest decreases are watermelon, with 670,566 tons (-27%); melon, with 318,808 tons (-19%); the strawberry with 273,953 tons (-11%) or the nectarine, with 246,721 tons (-23%).
