The grain market has stabilized, with Hungarian exports increasing significantly, reaching 3.3 million tons in the second half of 2023, up from 1.9 million tons in the same period in 2022. Despite weather extremes and a lack of precipitation in the Great Plain, the sowing area for summer-harvested crops has decreased, while autumn-harvested crop areas have grown by 11 percent. The harvest began early and is expected to conclude soon with average yields. Producers are advised to sell their grain rather than stockpile it.
