The Supreme Court (TS) has annulled the irrigation allocations approved by the Government in 2023 for almond, pistachio, and walnut crops in the Tagus and Guadiana river basins and will have to apply those that were in force in the previous plans until new ones are approved. In the ruling, consulted by Efeagro, Section V of the Contentious-Administrative Chamber partially upholds the appeal filed by two companies dedicated to the cultivation of nuts with economic interests in the Tagus and Guadiana river basins. Specifically, these companies appealed against several points of Royal Decree 35/2023, of January 24, by which the review of the hydrological plans in 12 hydrographic demarcations was approved.
