Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov chaired a meeting to discuss the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR). The transit time for cargo through Kazakhstan has been reduced from 12 to 6 days, with a goal of further reducing it to 5 days by the end of 2023. The delivery time for goods from China to Black Sea ports within the TITR framework has already been cut from 38-53 to 19-23 days, and is aiming to be 14-18 days by the end of the year. The meeting also focused on modernizing Kazakhstan's railway infrastructure, upgrading its rolling stock fleet, expanding the merchant fleet and port capacities, and preparing an agreement between Kazakhstan and China on the TITR's development.
