Spain: The value of wine exports in the world increases, but the volume decreases

The Spanish Wine Market Observatory (OEMV) has been noting in recent months an increase in the value of wine exports in the world, although the downward trend in terms of the volume distributed in the markets continues. This has been stated the general director of the OEMV, Rafael del Rey, who highlighted that the set of Spanish wine exports, with data for the month of February, reached a new year-on-year turnover record, standing at 2,990.5 million euros (+1 .9%), while the downward trend in volume (-9.4%) is maintained, up to 2,072.6 million liters. In an interview with Efeagro coinciding with the celebration of the National Wine Fair (Fenavin) 2023 in Ciudad Real, Del Rey has commented that "in general there is a trend in the world, which therefore also affects Spain, of a significant increase in the value of sales, although not in volumes".
