Western São Paulo has established itself as one of the main national hubs for beef cattle. With over 1.7 million head of cattle, the region concentrates almost 20% of the entire state's herd. This historical vocation is strengthened by the excellent logistical integration with Paraná and Mato Grosso do Sul, in addition to its high volume of business. The constant growth of animals finished in the feedlot reinforces the optimism of the sector. According to the 2025 Confinement Tour, conducted by the multinational DSM, São Paulo should have the second largest volume of confined animals in Brazil, with 1.5 million head finished in the feedlot. This number represents an increase of 3.8% compared to last year. Despite being a giant in finishing, São Paulo still occupies only the tenth position in the national ranking, with 10.7 million head.
