This contribution will extend from May 1 to August 31, 2026, The plenary session of the General Council of Interprofessional Agri-Food Organizations has approved changes in the norm extension for white pork to increase up to 0.265 euros per pig (21 cents more per animal) the economic contribution given by the agents of the chain in order to reinforce prevention measures for African Swine Fever (ASF). This contribution will extend from May 1 to August 31, 2026, as detailed in a statement by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA). The plenary session thus approves the request of the Interprofessional of White Pork (Interporc) to intensify the implementation and maintenance of prevention systems against possible impacts of this disease, which reappeared in Spain last November.
