"This started 15 years ago," notes agronomist Andrés Batalla from Corrientes, who has just launched his own app for managing yerba mate crops. He says this not because it took him all that time to develop it, but because in that software he condenses what he learned in his close relationship with the most traditional production in northeastern Argentina. This long journey was always made together with his brother Martín, with whom he has a cattle consulting firm called Batalla Hermanos in their hometown, Curuzú Cuatiá. Along the way, there were good attempts and failed projects, such as the development of their own digital phenological network, which was left without leadership due to lack of funding.
