Wisconsin cranberry producers have seen a decrease of around 30% in cranberry growth this year due to unusual weather conditions. Warmer April and colder May temperatures led to early fruit growth and damage, reducing the quality of the fruit for the fresh market. As a result, most cranberries grown in Wisconsin are suitable only for processing. However, there is no obvious shortage in the fresh cranberry market so far. Sales in the initial part of the season were good, with a higher demand in December than usual.
