Córdoba launched a pilot multi-risk insurance test for agriculture, an unprecedented tool at the provincial level aimed at cushioning the impact of extreme weather on production. The initiative covers 500,000 hectares of soy and corn and is directed at producers who are part of the Good Agricultural Practices program. The scheme is promoted by the Ministry of Bioagroindustry together with ADIRA. It is a free coverage, as it is a pilot test, which can be accessed through online registration until January 10. The main objective is to ensure a minimum yield that allows covering, at least, the basic production costs. According to the provincial ministry, the insurance compensates when the yield obtained by the producer is below a "trigger yield" defined by zone.
