The 2022 sunflower growing season in Ukraine faced significant challenges, with disease outbreaks, including sclerotinia, carbon rot, and verticillosis, significantly reducing yields. These diseases are resistant to fungicides, leading to varied yield ranges from 2.8 to 3.3 t/ha across all cultivation zones. Additionally, the season was marked by a lack of required heat during pollination, further impacting the crop. As a result, Ukraine's sunflower harvest this year was approximately 40% lower than the previous year.
