Three new outbreaks of Newcastle disease in chicken farms in Valencia

The veterinary authorities of the Generalitat Valenciana have reported three new outbreaks of Newcastle disease in three broiler farms in the province of Valencia, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA). The Ministry detailed this Friday in a statement that these new outbreaks, located in the municipality of Llutxent in the Vall D'Albaida region, are considered secondary to the primary outbreak reported last December 29 in the same locality and are within the restriction zone established by the first outbreak. These are three farms with a census of 28,500, 16,500, and 20,100 chickens, respectively, in which an "abnormally high mortality" was detected. Samples taken by the official veterinary services of the Generalitat have been analyzed in the Generalitat laboratories (Cecav and UASA), where the presence of the Newcastle disease virus has been confirmed.
