The Netherlands is set to resume normal tomato production, planning to produce 180,000 tonnes, with 70% being vine tomatoes and the rest cherry and smaller tomatoes. Belgium and Poland are also planning winter tomato cultivation but do not anticipate growth. Spain's winter tomato production is predicted to slightly decrease from last year. France and other EU countries are wary of competition from Morocco. Poland has seen production increase due to favorable weather and resistant varieties, despite import competition. The Netherlands estimates summer production at 710,000 tonnes, but vegetables are vulnerable to the ToBRFV virus. Italy is struggling with pests and high temperatures, and France produced 477,000 tonnes of tomatoes, slightly above 2023 levels.
