Trend: Producers of concentrated animal feed are removing corn from their recipes.

The trend is to reduce the sowing of corn in Bulgaria due to high temperatures, drought, and the challenge we all face – from the farmer to production and the end customer – mycotoxins. This was reported by Asen Georgiyev, commercial director at a major company, who analyzed the market trends in feed raw materials in Bulgaria and the Black Sea region during the 33rd annual conference of the Union of Compound Feed Producers. There are quite negative forecasts for the corn harvest. It is expected to be around 800,000 - 900,000 tons. However, according to Georgiyev, the harvest will be better, based on information from daily contacts with farmers.
