South Korea: Trout production prices remain strong for 5 months

It is reported that the price of trout production has been strong for the fifth consecutive month. According to the Korea Maritime and Fisheries Development Institute (KMI) Fisheries Observation Center, the average price of trout in July was 12,834 won per kg, up slightly from the previous month (12,424 won). The price of production in July was 48.9% and 52.1% higher than the normal year and the same month, respectively, and by region, it rose 2~5% from the previous month in all regions. The local price in Gangwon was 12,817 won per kg, up 2.9% from the previous month. The center analyzed that the increase in the price of trout production was because aquaculture fishermen reduced their shipments due to the small amount of medium and large fish nurtured.
