From January to August of this year, Turkey exported 1,343 tons of anchovy to 24 countries, generating revenue of $7.49 million. France, Belgium, and the USA were the main importers. The export destinations included Oman, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Syria, and the Republic of South Korea, which were new markets for Turkish anchovy. The export volume did not meet expectations and relies on the success of the upcoming anchovy season. The outlook for the season is positive, which is expected to boost exports further.
